My bet is that he does because he is sponsored. I'm sure he gets quite a few guns for free.

It isn't about being "threatened" it's about respect. My property, my rules. If I have a sign up that clearly says I don't want you on my property then don't knock on my door.

The entitlement of door-to-door salesmen is what gets me. I'm not threatened by you - you just piss me off.

The reason I put up the NO TRESPASSING sign is because solicitors always had some justification about how they were not "soliciting" they wanted donations, or were "informing me of services", or "distributing materials" or some other bullshit explanation.

If you cross onto a property marked "No Trespassing" you are trespassing. Period. Just because your job is to sell stuff door-to-door does not exempt you from this. You are not special just because of your job and you have no First Amendment rights on my property except the ones I allow; your constitutional right to speech ends at the property line. Sorry, but that is the way it is; if you don't like the restrictions I have on my land then don't be on my land - and one of those restrictions is no sales, missionaries, campaigners, leafletters, etc. Essentially, unless I specifically invite you to my home, fuck off. Don't ring the bell, don't knock on the door, don't even step off the sidewalk.

Harsh? Maybe. But when I have people who won't take "no" for an answer and follow me inside my garage when I'm trying to close the door, I have run out of fucks to give; I've had enough with the entire profession. When I have people get mouthy and want to fight me on my own front porch because I've told them they are trespassing, I have no warm and fuzzy feelings towards anyone in the profession. I have no pity and I have no remorse. If my rights as a property owner are going to be systemically ignored and disrespected then I will show no respect in return. At this point, the people who show up at my door are going to be greeted by a free shower from my hose.

What do you think a sign that says No Trespassing means when coupled with one that say No Soliciting? It means you are not welcome and to go away.

I have a NO TRESPASSING sign at the entrance to my property, and a NO SOLICITING sign just inches from my door bell. It's absurd how many people think they are somehow the exception or that I've put those signs up because I'm weak and cave easily to salesmen.

The last ones were real prize winners, I had two incredibly obese guys show up "looking for a deaf person." They didn't seem to get the irony of two apparently illiterate guys knocking on doors to try to find a deaf person.
