What do you guys use to make your MySQL deployment highly available? (master-slave, master-master? where do you write, how do you flip server, roles, etc)

Do you use Redis in production and, if so, how do you achieve high-availability with it?

What software and/or techniques do you use for backing up Hadoop data (to protect it from being destroyed because of a human error)?
