As a former drag queen I totally get this. I used to work at my town's bar and performed there. It was our home and the bartenders and bouncers were our family. We liked to play momma bird. Don't be fuckin with the drag queens!

Everyone has answered below but I'll list my reasons.

When I turned bar age and started getting involved with the community I made friends with the drag group. We had a court in our city (part of the international court system). They became like a second family. Amazing caring hilarious people. It was a creative outlet for me to perform and we raised thousands for charity.

Eventually I met someone and moved away. Now I just don't have the time or energy to do it anymore. It's a huge commitment of time and money.

For me drag was never about gender identity. I'm a guy and love being one.
