What's one of the most profound experiences you've had in your life? As in, what experience(s) caused you to think differently about your life or how you are living it?

I am so relieved and happy to hear that your surgery went well. I found the link to your AMA two days ago, and I was captivated. I was drawn into reading the whole thing. I have had a rough few months loosing a friend to cancer, and my estranged wife to drugs and alcohol. Reading your story gave me hope... and you are a complete stranger! Seeing the care and concern of the Reddit community, your bravery, the ability of everyone involved in your surgery... it all gives me hope and renews my faith in humanity. Thank you!
