Well to be fair there would be a long delay in time for them to receive our message all the way from Earth and then we would need to wait a long time to hear a response back. And anyway, even if it isn't intelligent, any extraterrestrial life would be monumentally important

I think he just means that if you're planning on stocking up, you don't need to spend much money to have a basic start.

Either that or the dollar store is less likely to be raided for food in the early days... But really the first one

How do you go about creating a sci fi show without rehashing on existing scenes and plotlines that have been done before in other shows/stories?
