As someone with farming experience, how do you feel about the massive CAFOs being built across the state literally adjacent to other people’s private properties? (Callaway Farrowing, Tipton East, Valley Oaks Steak). Would you support increased DNR regulations about these?

Thanks for taking the time to answer my question directly. I agree wholeheartedly, CAFOs are the opposite of stewardship. However, this may just be a personal opinion (I’m a city boy, not a farmer) but the big issue is the local residents that are dealing with a 6,999 head operation moving in next door who are dealing with not only the smell, but the waste that’s being land-applied and washing into (polluting) receiving streams and killing organisms within them. Keep this in mind when talking to constituents.
