Average lung capacity is about 6L. That's about 250ml (250cc or 2.5×10^-4 m³ ) of CO2 per breath according to OP. CO2 has a density of 1.98 kg/m³ so that's 0.000495kg or about 0.5g of CO2. Wolfram Alpha (I'm lazy) says that's 0.135g of actual carbon. A 1 carat diamond has a mass of 0.2g (and is pure carbon) apparently so you'd only need 2 breathes! Although I'm guessing there's a significant about of wasted carbon that goes into this so probably a lot more.
