I have a few questions. My ex girlfriend is haitian. Her mom died in the earthquake and i visited her last summer. It was the most intense but beautiful experience I've ever had.

I was wondering if you could talk about your experience with kidnapping rings, what you know about them, etc. My ex has had friends that were kidnapped, some who didn't make it back.

Also, what was your initial reaction to the poverty upon first landing?

So most people you work with are not career NGO workers? They are volunteers that come for a set (or unset) time?

I am a college student looking to get into NGO work, how do you suggest that I or anyone else get into this kind of work? Does it always require money and do you need to self-support? How does that work?
