Another component of that is that Costume Quest 2, and now Psychonauts 2 are the only sequels they've worked on. Otherwise, their games have been extremely different from eachother, whereas most developers stick to one or two types of games.

Quick thing to mention -- I'm a regular GamerGhazi user, so keep that in mind regarding bias. I've so far read pages 188-208.

There were areas where seemingly relevent information was omitted (e.g, that there was no review of Quinn's game, that mailing lists among journalists are fairly common). In contrast, you didn't really hold back in criticizing Sommers' views.

I'm not sure how to phrase it as a cohesive question, but what was your justification/how do you view this schism in hindsight?

Also, is that the final publication? There are a few typos and corrections I'd like to point out if not.

However you view, it's not an uncommon practice, which I think is relevant. I'm not familiar enough with any particular cases to judge how often it is, but I do agree that they have the potential to be abused.
