I just wanted to share my grandmothers story because yours reminded me of it.
She used to call my house every five minutes for hours and leave messages every single time. These messages would get angrier and angrier until you could tell she forgot and suddenly it was a friendly message. If we answered, did not make a difference she still called some times 40 times a day.
She would call the police if she felt the phone line was busy for too long on my end. Ive had the operator cut in saying there was an emergency and she had to disconnect. Then of course grandma would call, to talk about her trip to florida.
Any time she saw a person that wasnt white in her neighborhood, of course they tried to break into her house. We never did find evidence of a break in. She came up with stories of her trips and stuff she did. But never had any actual details, given she hadnt left the house in months. Towards the end she forgot to eat most days. It was pretty sad but a relief when she passed. The worst part is im starting to see some forgetfulness in my own mother. And thats terrifying as i am 1000 miles away.

I understand. I grew up near Cherokee NC. And everyone and their mother swore up and down they were part Cherokee.
OK great guys...doesn't mean a damn thing.
Also had a friend of the family who told us for years he was Cherokee. Born and raised on the reservation. He used to make me Cherokee headbands as a kid. Found out after he died, he was crazy and mostly Irish /Spanish. Not an ounce of Cherokee.
