What do you think about assisted suicide? If someone decides they do not wish to live anymore, why do they have to be prevented from taking their own lives instead of helped?

Why is someone with no will of living considered mentally ill? Why is being happy and full of life the norm and not the other way around? I understand there’s some mental illnesses that have as an effect suicidal thoughts, but if someone has no problem whatsoever, no traumatic experiences, but decides life is not worth it in the long run and wants to end it now instead of waiting, why is he/she considered mentally ill?

I’m not trying to come off as rude or anything but you said there’s no limit so I will ask.

Do you think your parents shouldn’t have had children in the first place if they knew they were carrying the gene? Do you think it was selfish of them to have children and risk ruining their lives?

To be honest, to see a response that I relate to and sums up my feelings so well, felt way better even than OP’s response.

The way I see it is that people generally make up fake purposes for themselves and then believe life is worth living. Purposes like kids, family, a career, making the world a better place, exploring, traveling, religion and so on. And that’s not a bad thing, I’m happy for them, it’s nice they can go through life with hope and dreams and whatever they chose to believe, I just don’t see it working for me.

So I live from day to day, taking up space and consuming, just like you said. Basically unimportant, replaceable peasants, in a pointless world where other peasants try to give meaning and reason for their existence, while people in power...well let’s not get into politics. History is depressing.
