They haven't and they won't work since the laws are only applied to regular people. It's an endless parade of corrupt politicians judges prosecutors mayors policeman etc. This is the country where the prime minister was proud of 10 km of highway and cut the ribbon for it. It broke in 1year. Also it cost more per km than anywhere in Europe.

This is true, people have more money and that improves everyone's life but I still have to buy my own medicine while in the hospital or have to bribe the doctor, the nurse and all state officials to do their job. The trains speeds are worse that in the 60's etc.

You were just reporting of the series of corrupted affairs that led to people being burned alive. Everyone knows about them and they are happening at all levels of government. Has that changed for the better? What will the consequences be? Will the guilty parties be punished in such a way that this will never happen again ? Or will this be washed under the rug with years of litigation which will amount to mostly nothing.

The biggest problem with Romania is that there are no real consequences for failures at any level. Nothing happens to a doctor that kills you, a politician, judge, policeman that takes bribes or make bad decisions. You can make any rules you want if the people enforcing them are corrupt.
