u/politico - can we get a follow up response on this one?

Randall Samborn dropped this little quote about Barr and then ghosted. I think the conversation would really benefit from an expanded response to the logical follow up:

How is Barr someone of integrity given his memo written to the DOJ last year, as well as the conflict of interest of his son-in-law working as a Trump advisor?

Was that one of the reasons why he was selected for AG?

yeah, shockingly it looks like u/politico is content to just leave that statement there undefended...

He explained that his memo was him joining the "possible obstruction of justice" fray....I don't know anything about his son-in-law"

lol. Well, that's an answer, I guess.

Meanwhile, Pelosi et al have an entirely different view of Barr's confirmation hearing - and his reliability within the context of his previously stated views and position in determining actions based on the Mueller report

Pelosi and Schumer said Congress would have to make its own determination because they think Barr is biased.

“Given Mr. Barr’s public record of bias against the Special Counsel’s inquiry, he is not a neutral observer and is not in a position to make objective determinations about the report,”

should he not have recused himself so that there could not be questions arising like this?

Politico replied back - essentially, "naw, he's cool, I know some people who know him" while side stepping the conflict of interest and bias concerns
