Do you find it hard? I lived 22 years with the understanding that God loves me unconditionally. After I couldn't really believe that anymore I've had problems dealing with hard times. Now when things go bad I feel so alone.

A church council was looking to hire a new pastor after the last one was planning on retiring. A woman was their only applicant. She came highly recommended but the traditional men on the council were skeptical because she was a woman. So they brought her in for an interview and asked her all sorts of different theological questions which she answered perfectly. She seemed like a good fit but the president of the council was still not convinced. He suggested she go on the next church fishing trip with the council as part of the interview process.

The day of the fishing trip arrives and the council meets the female pastor at the dock. They load the fishing boat and take off along the lake. When they reach their fishing spot the group realizes that they have forgotten their bait.

"No problem", the female pastor says. "I'll go get it."

With that, she hopped over the side of the boat and walked across the surface of the water back to the dock.

"So what do you think now?" One council member asks the president.

"She can't be our pastor!" The president replies, "she can't even swim!"
