How can we get the CDC and our elected representatives to separate opioid pain medication deaths from heroin deaths so we can get a better picture of the problems with prescribed opioids? I have no idea how dangerous my medication is, as prescribed, when they're grouped together in every study.

I wish there was a way to track how many heroin deaths were caused by a chronic pain patient who was denied pain killers, but I know I'm dreaming there. I agree, any death is tragic, whether it's someone who was using heroin to self medicate other problems, or for pain.

Which opiates have you tried? I had horrible hallucinations on oxycontin, but do fine with norco & fentanyl. I hope it's not all of them for you.
