What is a good way to find interesting robotics projects? Also, how did you find this project?

Is there any way to get into the game industry before becoming 18? I feel I won't be able to progress or learn anything relating to my dream job for a few years and may become worse at it. I have programming experience and game design knowledge, but have not made a game and feel that I might need some help.
