What was your political background like? And what would you do to help, or not help, the Florida citus industry?

I just wanted to say thank you running. I first heard about you on the TRS podcast from yesterday and I must say you are a beath of fresh air. I am a former liberal turned libertarian turned conservative turned alt-right. I am rather young, 29, have 2 kids, and the mainstream Republican Establishment does nothing for me. I've been looking for someone like you because no one else I've seen represents my views like you - so far as I've seen. If you get on the libertarian ticket, you have my vote!

Certainly there are many more pertinent issues than Florida Citrus but it is still a major facet of the Florida Economy. I work IT in the produce industry so I am keenly aware of some of the issues faced by Florida Citrus.

I have mixed emotions about the following topics and I'd like you thoughts on them.

For the most part I feel that government should not interfere with private industry - either to hinder or to help. I find my attitude shifts when it comes to the food supply because healthy food is essential to the health of a nation. Currently the state of Florida, and the federal government if I recall, contribute money towards efforts that try to solve things like greening and kanker. A line must be drawn somewhere between helping an industry to provides healthy food to our nation and letting the free market run it's course. Thoughts?

Have any experience with the USDA, and in particular AMS marketing orders? If not I'd suggest you get up to speed because our lobbyist is always bugging the shit out of Rubio and Nelson. There's always some BS going on between California, Florida, and/or other nations looking to import their product into the US and the Senators are always dragged into the middle of it as mediators and whatnot. Do you feel you are up to the challenge?

Florida Citrus can by a powerful ally if you can court them. You'll need financial backing for a campaign and Florida Citrus still has deep pockets. I'd finance you myself but that's unfeasible given that I'm not a trust fund baby, nor a lottery winner. Best of luck and thanks in advance for your response!
