Ranger school is a leadership school. Graduating Ranger school doesn't make you a Ranger, it earns you a tab and makes you Ranger-qualified. Passing the Ranger Assessment and Selection Program (RASP) gets you into the 75th Ranger Regiment as a Ranger. Once in a Ranger battalion, you'll get sent to Ranger school whenever they send you.

You want an 11X Option 40 contract, that will put you through Infantry OSUT, followed by Airborne School, then RASP. I don't know how hard they are to obtain these days, but I had several buddies in basic who had Option 40 contracts and I was offered one along with a few other Privates during basic even though we didn't enlist with one. Similarly, SF recruiters came around offering qualified trainees 18X contracts as well. You need a minimum of a 107 GT score and 240 PT score to even be considered from what I remember. That shit's easy. Just don't wash out of RASP or you'll probably get stuck in the 82nd and their beyond stupid garrison lifestyle.

You can also go for a 68W Option 40 contract if you want to be a Ranger medic. I don't know much about that. Google is there for you.
