So let's address this comment, and do tell:

Being a boeing airframe mechanic for 7 years this doesn't surprise me. The stories i could tell but wont because most of you will never want to fly again, i don't.

I've been wondering the same. Girlfriend is Catholic, and the last conversation we had ended up with her getting upset that I don't believe, and then the talk ended. Hasn't been brought up since.

Tried to rationalize to her that I understand the want for a religion, and think it can lead to people acting better by thinking they're being watched by some entity overseeing their afterlife, but overall it's too illogical for me. I don't have the evidence, or faith to ignore lack of it. Not sure what more to do. My views remain open, but only really change based on scientific evidence.

That's definitely a big issue, though lack of scientific evidence or denial of it is what turns me off to most religions. Guess I just don't have blind faith.
