Then when you work for them and see it everywhere including the burnt out coworkers who say things like “the best part of these bullshit calls is knowing these people get thousands of dollars in bills for calling with stupid shit”

Absolutely. In fact while I worked for a large 911 service in the southeast, they specifically had shift huddles to educate us on shortages and then created protocols to require vital sign backed up improvement for the patient conditions on your pcr, it had something to do with billing.

The reason this is so funny is right after they implemented the verified ways your medicines helped the patient requirement they also set up your patient care reports being flagged for review before submission if you started an iv or gave meds. When asked as to why this was being announced at the shift huddles the answer I won’t soon forget- Anything we do, iv’s we start, meds and airways we give- the hospital ultimately re does- think about it, it’s for the patients best interest, let them do it.”

This was right around the same time they denied access to any personal electronic device in the cab of the truck. Which meant leaving your phone accessible to patients resulting in.. many thefts. Extra stupid because none of the receiving hospitals out of 11 had access to our radios and thus stopped getting reports of what was being brought in because they wouldn’t staff the paramedic needed to do it even when we offered to buy the radio base setup. Fucking useless twats they all are, it’s profit driven and tbh

Honestly that’s a fairly minor one compared to the hundreds of rides we give a month to some individuals. Ems companies just must see Call Volume High- and think “ hmm great return on my investment! Better let billing know to sharpen their claws this week!”

Knowing full well there’s virtually fuck all we can do other than administer sometimes life saving drugs. All that epi and focus on heart attacks in class and where exactly does it say epi has saved people? Anaphylaxis aside the programs around here are much more focused on passing a fucking test than they are about actual medical care.

And this is why I refuse to offer my services any longer.

That and my coworkers burned down their home in Atlanta and set me up to take the fall which resulted in my removal from the completed paramedic program and my job there of course

Those two are already back out and living their life after spending said insurance money and getting me canned and cut off from my program. Life’s kinda fucked for me now. Then the local sheriffs department heard what was happening and decided to intimidate stalk and harrass me while Threatening me with rape arrest trespassing stalking and harassment. Told me I couldn’t even walk my dog in my neighborhood anymore lol. Honestly. Public services are getting exactly what they deserve right now- all the hate they’ve sown and greed has come home to roost.

It’s only a matter of time before ems is made out to be the complete and utter cash grab shit show it’s designed to be. It’s disgusting really, when your coworkers are so jaded and immoral and yet they play the system to the best of their abilities to gain whatever they can from the patient or victim- not many people wake up wanting to take ambulance rides, it’s a certain necessity being treated as a commodity.since you seem to think I’m stretching the truth even a little bit, click here and dispel your doubts

But I can hope all day long, doesn’t mean shit but man if they do this and get away with it- how exactly in the fuck am I supposed to believe in “justice” or anything for that matter when everything you have can be taken from you because some dumb ass bitches decide they want easy money and to top it all off with those two dipshits- they even routinely requested my schedule months before the arson around the same time they got their insurance premium changed (smart eh? Especially when the scheduler noticed they would be then working with my previous two best friends who were married together who were threatening to quit unless they could work back on the truck together and to settle them down they gave me to one and the other girl to another.. those two new girls desperately wanted the wife who was forced to die nonemergency discharges for a year or until a schedule spot popped up off of that assignment and onto 911 weekend night shift of which anyone who worked it got 5 an hour bonus in shift diffs. Considerable amount of money wouldn’t you say? Especially when you’re only making 15 an hour.. for more coverage or whatever that cobb county arson investigator reveled to me right before I asked him to stop bothering me with their nonsense I’ve suffered enough. Lol it only took them showing up To my new job to freak everyone out about me and management told me they were approached by people asking questions and asked if I was alright because of it, I stopped coming to work as much cause I couldn’t handle seeing any form of militaristic law enforcement.
