Gas station attendant here. We use a similar product (only it's flame retardant) for cleaning up fuel spills. Without that shit would take hours to clean up and would remain flammable for a while.

Bonus story: Lady was pumping gas and decided to pull the nozzle out and pump roughly a gallon on the ground because she "couldn't hear the gas flowing so she thought we were ripping her off. Also I couldn't turn the pump off so I pumped out more than I meant to on the ground"
