This seems to be the new drug Vets are are trying to push out everywhere. Why? Is this like the opioid epidemic when doctors were being coaxed by Pharma to push as many of those as possible. I’ve also noticed an uptick in humans being prescribed this, as a replacement for opioids. My dog recently came down with a painful ear infection and the vet tried to push Gabapentin for acute pain. Gabapentin is NOT for acute pain. It states that everywhere yet the Vet insisted it was. I then asked “if YOU went to the ER with an earache, would YOU be okay going home with Gabapentin?”. The Vet couldn’t come up with a good response and proceeded to change the medicine.

So why is there a sudden huge push from Vets to push Gabapentin when it is actually used for nerve pain and can have long term, detrimental affects on the brain?

Reveddit was eye opening for me. I appear to be getting shadowbanned in a bunch of subreddits and assuming it is because I was vocally against the protests. Anything I can do to resolve?
