That's a pretty one sided view of things. You could say tabletop games have far more limitations because you simply cannot have any mechanics of the scale or complexity that a computer simulation allows. Any mechanic more complex than some dice rolling, simple arithmetic and comparing a few numbers is straight out. Any more than a hundred or so pieces would put turn resolution time through the roof. Imagine Crusader Kings II, a Total War game or Cities: Skylines as a tabletop game – simply impossible without a computer processing the game rules for you.
Tabletop and computer games have different limitations. A computer game won't be able to do anything the creators didn't think of, but it also allows for vastly more things going on than half a dozen humans are able to juggle in a reasonable timeframe.

I don't think it's even theoretically possible to better combine DOTA and Ender's Game references.
