I've flown 2* (Ryanair), 3* (easyjet), 4* (BA) & 5* (Singapore Airlines) this year and trust me you can tell the difference between each. The 2/3 star's staff are constantly trying to sell you stuff and are generally no frills flying. 4* was nicer because you get better food and it comes across that they are trained better because they are friendlier. Then Singapore airlines was just a pleasure the food was good the seats were large, the staff were very attentive and if you wanted snacks or drinks you could get the throughout the flight free of charge, I actually enjoyed the 13 hour flight i had with them.
