Glad you are doing better! My dad passed away 5 years ago from Viral Myocarditis. He had flu like symptoms on Friday and never came home when he finally went to the ER on Sunday. I always kinda blamed myself for not making him go sooner. About 2 years ago a friend of mine was complaining about some of the same symptoms my dad had. I told him he needed to get looked at ASAP. Sure enough it was VM. If he would have waited, he wouldn't be here today. It felt like redemption to me. There are a lot of support groups out there for survivors and families. If you are interested, send me a PM and I can get you in touch with them. I have met a lot of great people through the network. Do you know when you actually caught it? I've heard it can stay in your system for awhile before symptoms show. Also, how long until you are fully recovered? Hope you get better soon!

You can get it anywhere. It is a virus.

Fever, vomitting, cold sweats, pretty typical stuff. That's why he just tried to wait it out, until it became unbearable. I talked to a cardiologist about it, apparently by the time it starts to show those symptoms, its already too late. The last words he ever said to me were "can you bring me my hoodie" as he was trying to get dressed to go to the ER. That's why it's a deadly condition, it doesn't present like what it actually is.

Thank you! Deep down I know there was nothing I could do but I was the only one home and still feel like I should have made him go sooner. I took that energy and put it into learning about the condition so I could potentially help others and trying to support those who have lost someone the same way I did.

It's nuts. I posted here about my dad having it. It can affect anyone of any age. Scary stuff.
