Hey bud,

I went through scoliosis surgery when I was 15 years old, my spine was around 45 degrees and my shoulder slumped pretty badly. The surgery went well, I believe it took 9 hours, but I did (not to scare you) lose a lot of blood. Thankfully I was young, just like you are, and I was a-okay. My recovery took a week, I was up and walking (slowly) and I went home either before or shortly after a week. You're going to find out how much your spine does and how every single movement depends on your spine.

I can touch my toes no problem and I have an extremely active job of bending over and lifting things. Just please, please take care of your back! My spine is fused also.

I just read about your brittle bone disease and I am wishing you the best of luck. You'll be fine, just keep your head up bud.

Here is a picture of my scar today

I forgot to mention the growing part. You feel no different but the height chart tells different! Hope your friend is doing well.

Oh man, sorry to hear that. You seem like a positive person so keep up that attitude. You'll be bed bound the first day but will want to get up and start exploring soon enough. That bed gets boring but you'll be knocked out from all those pain meds lol.
