Democrats won't go there, not even the Squad, because they know it is political poison. But every Democrat proposal on immigration in recent years has fallen into one of two categories: "let everyone come" and "let everyone stay." It's de facto open borders.

ICE is an agency run amok, full of terrible people doing inhumane things. Kill it, replace it, by all means. But I don't know how we guarantee that the successor will be better. Immigration enforcement is always going to be an ugly business.
