Course, that's more of a 5 year question. You might notice some short term changes, but that could be related to blood sugar, dopamine levels, or what the weather is like.

Maybe I missed something, but as far as I can tell, they routed the pipeline to best avoid he ogallala and missouri river watersheds. The only other routes would be highly impractical.

Now what you could do, and this would be rather evil, but practical, would be to make them re-spec the pipe to be double or triple redundant. And then to concrete line a ditch under the pipe, and put in spillover sumps along the way.

It would look like the Maginot pipeline when they got done, but the only other option would be to add another 800-1200 miles to go through Wyoming and Colorado.
