Whataboutism. Both sides are not equal. I’m no fan of cancel culture but I don’t think wokeness=interfering with the peaceful transfer of power.

I hear that. Intolerance of divergent views is a trap regardless of side. I just disagree that “trans kids should get medical care” = “Democrats stole the election.”

One feels like (an extremely important) policy discussion, but the other completely undermines the legitimacy of the entire American experiment.

Totally fair. I was just using it to illustrate.

Is the US “failing” like other empires you’ve studied? Is it right to fear the destruction of our country, as so many currently do (often for very different reasons?)
