Hey Frank! Fan of your work. The following isn't criticism, but an earnest question! Please don't take any offense!

Before it's release, Holy Terror was much anticipated, but upon release was heavily criticized for being overtly racist and intentionally skewing politics to show the Middle East in as negative a light as possible.

It's also interesting that it started development as a Batman title, but was later revised as a standalone.

To your credit, I think I read somewhere that you intentionally made the artistic decision to stylize it as "propaganda-esque", and that the racist overtones were a direct result of the artistic choice. Would you be able to elaborate on this? How do you balance wanting to tell a story with being "politically correct"? How has the production and release of the title changed your world views on either politics or the comic book industry?

Now that it's all said and done, what's your take on the whole ordeal? What went on behind the scenes with DC that resulted in the distancing of the title with the Batman brand?

Anyways, your work is seminal to the art form, and I'm in no way denying that. Holy Terror is probably your only work ever that is not a critical darling, and I'm just curious of your opinion of it.

Have a wonderful day!

Hey Hans! I really enjoyed your use of 5/4 for Bane's theme in The Dark Knight Rises. I really wish popular media would utilize non-standard time signatures more often, both for variety's sake and because they are so good at making you feel unsettled or trippy. It feels like, much like popular music, scores are 99% of the time in 4/4 or 3/4. Do you think that weirder time signatures should be used more often, or that it's something that should be used sparingly for effect? Have you ever wanted to use a weird time signature but were met with resistance?
