I've long suspected myself of having a mental illness. I've heard that "crazy" people don't know they're "crazy," but since I believe that my brain functions on a separate (not necessarily higher or lower) plane than that of the rest of the world, I feel as though that I am cognizant of my illness(es). Is there a way to find out what's going on without seeing a doctor? I know it would be easier just to go to a doctor, but there is some inhibiting force that won't allow me to do that. Totally serious.
