I live in a mid sized city in Canada (Winnipeg). What are the most effective things I can get my local government to do that will have a positive impact on climate change while being cash positive or having a tiny green premium?

Winnipeg is the headquarters of Motorcoach and New Flyer so we do have a few electric buses.

For power generation we are solidly hydroelectric. We export a lot of our electricity.

Thanks for the answer! Love your comment about estate tax. I've been telling my friends and colleagues about that for years but they all think I'm crazy. Even though it will likely never apply to them.

Haha. I'd love to see R1 zoning abolished. Maybe some property tax incentives for higher density housing
