Things that have helped me: Break down the problem/create a plan. Doesn’t have to be perfect, just jot down a few ideas about how you can do whatever you’re aiming to do. If thinking about this gets your anxiety up, take a break and come back to it. The ideas don’t have to be good - your goal here is to get ideas out. And frankly that’s the toughest part about being a perfectionist - you feel like you have to get it right the first time, and you know you won’t, so you don’t try. Get your ideas out first.

Next, organize the ideas you’ve come up with. Put aside any that don’t make sense. Order your ideas. Always be open to the fact that your plan may need to be revised as you learn new things. Realize that if you’re procrastinating it might be because there are steps that need to be further broken down.

Discuss things with other people - talk about your feelings and why you’re struggling to progress. People might have ideas to help you.

Sometimes a fear of the unknown is what is causing the block - do some research. Find out more about the process or product you’re aiming for. The more you know about what you’re aiming to do, the more comfortable you’ll be at trying. Research how other people have tried to do the thing you’re trying to do, read about their approaches, their feelings, their struggles.

Jumping spiders are super cute. (I realize they're arachnids and not insects.)
