Wow guys, thanks for the comments! I think that would be the most unnerving thing to me though, not being able to see where you're going and have to trust charts and machinery. I always wondered if maneuvers such as in "The Hunt for Red October" where the sub runs at high-speed through tight underwater "canyons" were actually possible... and did you ever do the maneuver where the sub pitches up real fast and jumps out of the water?
