Listen to the guys who have been in a longer and seem like smart guys. Good leaders take account the advice from those more experienced.

Have some empathy for the lower enlisted and they will follow you anywhere. Remember that they are men, and not simply pawns to be ordered about.

They sound as skilled as the Iraqi troops we trained. Told them a million times not to disarm a landmine with your face over the top of it. First time they clear a minefield some dude blows his face off doing exactly what we told him not to.
