I was on one of the bucket lines, taking buckets from two FDNY guys. One said they were pretty sure we were in the area that "Tim" had been seen last. They talked about how he had been injured in a fire a few months ago, wasn't expected to walk again, but made it back, and got promoted to Captain only a week before.
On Monday, Sept 17, I saw a news story featuring the memorial service for Capt.Timothy Stackpole. He was found a few hours after my crew had left.
