Hi there, thanks so much for doing this AMA! I'd love to get the chance to study at SI some day!

As a Undergraduate in Computer Engineering, I've taken a keen interest in the Singularity. I have some questions - and I'm dying to hear what you have to say about them!

  1. What can current university students who are interested in the Singularity do to further their education in its direction? I'm getting my Masters in Computer Engineering with a concentration in Intelligent Systems. What subject matter in the Singularity differentiates itself from other industries and is a must-have for all young students who wish to work towards it?

  2. Do you believe there are gaps in our current scientific understanding of our universe that impedes the development of the singularity?

  3. What are currently the "Hardest" problems to solve?

  4. What recommendations do you have for creative students who would like to further the development of the Singularity in their own universities and careers?

  5. What kind of "projects" can students undertake to have them better understand what the Singularity is all about? I want to work on a killer project for my Senior Design, but most of my ideas don't seem feasible for a college senior.

  6. Which aspects of current technological development in the singularity must be understood by those who wish to contribute to it?

Thanks so much!!
