Beyond issues of science which you have tons of expertise in, how do you plan on learning about, and deciding on issues which you are less knowledgeable about?

I don't really get the deal with people downvoting (currently at 8|8) a comedian who's voluntarily taking the time chat with anyone with an internet connection. Looks like some people mad that comedians like to make jokes.

As a scientist/engineer I absolutely agree! Reaching balanced and well reasoned decisions given time constraints is a difficult and highly valuable skill.

If you wouldn't mind indulging me, could you list a couple of the sources of information (be it newspapers, magazines, books, etc.) you generally rely on for building your perspective?

Fair enough. Mainly I was just surprised that people would down vote his responses to 0 on the guy's own AMA.
