Neurofibromatosis, or something else?

This is not supposedly. This is very true. The immune system is hypothesized to act as a scavenger for malignant cells, thus decreasing your immune system through immunosuppressive medication increases your risk of cancer.

I can't pretend to know the answer to this, and Elhehir gave an answer, but I would ask your doctor if it is something that concerns you (in any way).

There seems to be some associated risk of increased cancer (specific types), but not so much of an increased mortality rate. http://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/706105_14
