Seeing shit I shouldn't have seen at a young age did the opposite for me. I honestly still see some of the more disturbing shit clear as day in my head and it really fucked me up for a while. I still can't watch anything disturbing (real life events) bc I'm afraid of something I can't unsee. No matter how curious I might be.
