They also slow down the digestion system (which is why they constipate you) so when you eat your food it just sits in your stomach and doesn't break down. I've thrown up food that I ate 12 hours ago and had it look completely undigested (I take morphine). They put you on a really stupid diet that makes no sense. Basically don't eat solid foods, blend everything. And no lettuce, like ever. I have a lot of trouble following it. I don't have gastroparesis as bad as OP though.

Miso soup was horrible to throw up. The taste. I couldn't eat it for years afterwards.
