I live by a very dense jungle, which I have traversed many a time. A question I have for you is have you ever ran into pockets of such dense air that you couldn't breathe? During the building of the Panama Railroad in the mid 1800's (and again during the building of the Canal here) there were reports of deaths of workers not being able to breathe. I experienced this first hand (pretty near death).

I believe there is mention of this also in David McCullough's book, Pathway Between the Seas (he was here researching for his book a few years ago). I have the book in storage somewhere. Let me see if my engineer can locate some other source. He was with me at the time and told me what was happening. This was no allergy or disease, Kecemis. It was like O2 was completely gone from a pocket we went through of about the size of a half a basketball court. We had to crawl out. Sounds like bullshit but it's not. Let me try to see if I can get a local source.
