Just for general information, matching donors for kidney transplant isn't as involved as it is for some other types of donation. Blood types have to match, but there are only six types of tissue match that are tested for, and successful transplants can occur with anything from no tissue matching to all six matching.

It's about 1/100000 chance for two unrelated people to match all six tissue matches, so it's unusual but not astoundingly so. Higher number of tissue matches don't guarantee a successful transplant, but they probably help, and they likely reduce the dosage of anti-rejection drugs that recipients need after transplant.

Doing the math, you are a young adult in your early twenties, now? What sort of commonly expected middle class milestones have you reached versus not? School? Relationships? Living independently?

Also, what is your relationship like with your adopted family? I get the impression it's not ideal. Personally I think families with a mix of natural born and adopted kids have the most complicated dynamics.

I have several foreign adopted relatives in my family and in general they are all success stories wrt integrating into a new family, language, and culture, but it wasn't a cakewalk for any of them, I think the greatest factor in their success (other than luck) was an acknowledgement that it was going to be hard, and that just love won't cut it in the long term, there's a lot of work and help needed from everyone involved.

Kindly decline, and remember it's the pathology that's misbehaving, not your grandma. Hypersexuality can be a symptom of dementia, it is not a reflection of your Grandma's attitudes and behaviours before she became ill. Be kind to her, and to yourself.

I would suspect you're right. If I recall correctly, people tend to partner with people who are genetically similar to themselves overall, but who are genetically dissimilar to them with respect to a particular subset of genes that help control the immune system.

Though I doubt if factors like location, which is probably the strongest influence on partnership, have been completely controlled for with studies like these. And of course, different pressures can have different effects on the genome.

Thanks for your response, you seem like you're on the right track in spite of some very large bumps in the road.

If you want to expand upon your familial relationships, I would be interested, but that's very personal and not really on topic, here.
