For those who don't know, "Jody" is the name of the legendary coward who stays at home when others to go war, usually using the opportunity to steal the soldier's girl.

I believe he is saying that they were kept together in county jail, so all knew each other's crimes, then later when they were moved to actual prison they kept each other's secrets.

A couple of those you mentioned directly infringe on other Blizzard games, the Skeleton King from Diablo and Sylvanas Windrunner from Warcraft. They were the inspiration behind their skills as well. Necrolyte might be from something also.

Blizzard probably drew a hard line because there is no doubt they own those characters.

Ed2: An additional reason might be that Blizzard wants those characters available in a MOBA they are making, Heroes of the Storm. Leoric and Sylvanas are already confirmed for eventually inclusion.

The Catholic Church tends to be pretty "liberal" when it comes to adults consuming media with adult themes. Basically it boils down to, if it is occasion to sin for you (eg. you see drug use depicted and then want to use drugs), then you should avoid it, otherwise it's probably fine.
