The only reason I don't like it, is that I can't view this at work, and my cell phone has such a shitty signal here I'm stuck waiting until I go home tonight to view it. This means I have no context from which to participate in the discussion. Oh well.

This is an accurate statement for many people. It's the Vegan/PETA claptrap that turns most people away from this movement. Treating animals humanely and giving them the respect they deserve should not be tied to it, and should be the ultimate goal, not social engineering.
