Where did you learn the "norms" or little things about the different places you write for? For example, even in scientific writing, sentence structure and word choice vary per region. How do you accurately emulate that?

I live in a south west state, and we have self-driving cars driving all over. I have noticed that they seem to constantly run yellow lights and enter the turning lanes over solid lines. What is this usually due to? Can it be fixed?
