I'm not sure how much you know about this, because it's not a mass-market type of question...

Let's say I've read your responses here and have already checked pretty much all of your boxes. I'm comfortable and my savings are steadily growing, ret. funds are getting pumped as hard as possible, additional equity, no debt besides a smallish bond that I'm hammering too...

What is the next logical step to take to go from quite comfortable to wealthy? Just keep plugging away with traditional instruments and hope someday it'll be enough to retire early? Or are there ways to take a bit more risk with more potential upside to ratchet up earnings... that don't quite reach the levels of straight-up gambling?

Thanks so much for taking the time.

I have been thinking about the business route, but as you say I don't know if I have the interest/acumen to make it work, but I am thinking about starting something small to mitigate risk and feeling it out first... Property in SA doesn't thrill me right now, which would normally be a good thing but I don't trust our legislative framework right now.... I digress.... I'll prob look into moving more money abroad (besides my foreign equity) and maybe doing some offshore property move soonish. I'm definitely going to take a look at that book.

Something I find funny is many, many years ago I was reading rich-dad and something that struck me was how he explained that money can be a problem... like having to decide constantly what do you do with it.... I realise more and more how true those words rung.

All the best.
