Letting people spew hate and doing nothing belittles us as a community.

Although Voltaire never actually said it, I think he'd agree with the quote, "I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it." Feel free to argue against hate speech, but to encourage censorship only damages a community.
