Hi, Mr. Tompkins,

Before I get to a question, I just want to do a little bit of maudlin aggrandizing, if you don’t mind. For an incredibly long time, I lived in household that was… just a slight bit broken. My parents were similar to the way you described your parents in your interview with Janet Varney (Far too Catholic to ever divorce, which would have been the best choice for everyone), plus a little alchoholism and aggressive anger issues (My mother’s small, but she sure knows how to throw porcelain vases!). Last year, during my sophomore year of college, I had a major breakdown that put me in the hospital. After a long time of therapy and some medication adjustment, I felt like I was in a comfortable place. Still, I felt lost, scared, confused, you know that sort of thing. When I talked to my therapist about it, he said that this was probably because I haven’t had the most solid adult role models in my life (Surprise!), and, despite being well off in growth in terms of home and food and company, was slightly emotionally stunted. At around this time, I started listening to more Podcasts- Comedy Bang Bang, Nerdist, Thrilling Adventure Hour. I really enjoyed your work in everything and would always target the episode of an interview podcast with you in it. From the stories you told and what people told about you, I started to consider you a bit of a role model, if you don’t mind me doing so. You work on projects that make you happy, you have a loving marriage, and you’re kind and gracious to people who do the same for you. I have a great amount of respect for you, not only as a performer, but as a person. Then again, I technically haven’t met you, so the only authority I have is what I’ve collected from your published performances, work, and interview. They do say “Never meet your heroes”. Despite this, at the top of my bucket list, I have “Make a podcast and invite Paul F. Tompkins on”. Even if that ever happens, All I can hope for is that the catches your eye and I get a chance to say "Thank you for everything you've done".

I apologize for the gooey sentimentality. I promise you, I give myself 40 lashes from a wet noodle as I kneel before a statue of Jesus made of Muenster cheese.

Now, for a question… Who’s your favorite Author BESIDES H.G. Wells? Also, now that Terry Pratchett has passed on, do you think H.G. will be traveling back

(Also, did you know in the sci-fi show “The Warehouse”, they feature H. G. Wells as a character. However, in their canon, H.G. Wells is a woman! That’s all, I suppose)
