When I was there the only pictures that were deleted were ones where I had caught only half the great leader's head, for instance (in their words, I'd "cut off his head"). We took the train out, and the guy checking our cameras was a 20 something border guard. He could only be bothered to check about half of my pictures, and one of my friends simply said he didn't have a camera, which was accepted (he actually had a smartphone). They really aren't all that bothered.

North Korean women are quite beautiful, just like South Korean women are, but in a completely different way since the country basically hasn't moved on since the war, meaning they don't have access to modern fashion and makeup. Going to North Korea is almost like time travelling, you get an impression of what the world looked like in the 50s.

Completely disagree on the food. It was absolutely delicious! So much kimchi.

Well, if you take a tour in NK to you can visit Mao's corpse in Beijing too. The lines are shocking though, so I didn't bother myself. I did however see Lenin in Moscow, which was a far more "relaxed" experience than seeing the Kims (we had to bow and shit), but still quite disturbing. He looks like a sleeping vampire.

You do get to go see their dead bodies in the mausoleum actually! Creepy shit.
